Job description
The Energy Division at ARM is recruiting an experienced Principal Safety Engineer to join a world-leading nuclear defense client. The offices are based in Bristol, Altrincham, Glasgow, Epsom, or Silchester.
Key responsibilities include:
- Leading safety assurance throughout the lifecycle of nuclear facilities (design, construction, operation, decommissioning).
- Supporting compliance with Site Licence Conditions.
- Developing and leading safety case documentation (e.g., SJP, PCSR, PCmSR, PRS).
- Supporting or leading submissions for design changes and modifications (LC/AC 22).
- Engaging with stakeholders, clients, and regulators on technical safety issues.
- Conducting and overseeing assessments such as ALARP, ARM, Functional Safety, Deterministic and Probabilistic Safety, System Safety, and Risk Assessments, including Criticality, Fire, HAZOP, and HAZAN.
Requirements for success:
- Proven experience in nuclear safety case development and assurance.
- Strong understanding of nuclear safety culture and leadership principles.
- Ability to lead high-performing teams, supervise, and train others.
- DV clearance.
