Bring your skills to the mix as a Principal River Engineer; you'll play a vital role in every aspect of river engineering and flood defence on Transformational Programmes for critical UK infrastructure, with opportunities to work on iconic engineering projects at home and abroad.

We specialise in all aspects of river engineering within multiple sectors such as Water, Aviation, Defence, Energy, and Cities & Development. We provide industry-leading river engineering and flood defence solutions throughout the project lifecycle, adding value through client-side support and construction phases. If you're passionate about this industry, we would love to talk to you.

We currently have opportunities in our Epsom, Peterborough, Bristol, Exeter, Swansea, Birmingham, and Manchester offices.

Your Purpose:

  1. Lead a team to undertake technical design work following relevant design standards and codes, ensuring high-quality outputs.
  2. Prepare briefs, scopes of work, and contribute to bid proposals.
  3. Manage time and budgets effectively to meet project milestones and programmes.
  4. Collaborate with teams in the UK and overseas to deliver integrated design solutions.
  5. Adhere to quality assurance standards in design processes.

What you can bring:

  • Chartered Civil Engineer or equivalent qualification.
  • Experience in leading design delivery, including multidisciplinary design projects.
  • Strong knowledge of flood walls, embankments, weirs, hydraulic structures, culverts, scour protection, accessibility, and construction logistics.
  • Familiarity with UK design standards, guidance, and practices.
  • Ability to deliver both traditional engineering and environmentally focused solutions using nature-based strategies.
