Job summary

Rowden headquarters in Bristol is seeking a Principal RF Hardware Engineer to design analogue and mixed‑signal hardware supporting sensing, communications and signal processing in demanding environments.

You will work across the full RF chain from antenna interfaces to SDR platform bring‑up, coordinating with RF, FPGA, embedded software and ML engineers. Hybrid work with on‑site Bristol HQ at least 3 days/week.

Qualifications

• Experience designing RF and analogue hardware for wireless or radio systems.
• Experience designing RF signal chains including amplification, filtering, mixing and gain control.
• Full RF signal chain knowledge from antenna interface to ADC/DAC integration and digital pipelines.
• Experience integrating high‑speed ADC/DAC devices into RF systems.
• Experience multi‑layer mixed‑signal PCBs with schematic capture and layout.
• Familiarity with PCB design tools (KiCad/Altium) and RF layout principles.

Responsibilities

• Design RF front‑end architectures including amplification and filtering.
• Own RF and mixed‑signal hardware from concept to PCB bring‑up.
• Develop high‑speed ADC/DAC hardware and clocking architectures.
• Create multi‑layer RF PCBs with impedance control and signal integrity.
• Integrate RF components and validate performance with lab equipment.
• Support RF hardware integration with FPGA‑based SDR platforms.
