Job description

Our team has an established track record of successfully delivering major multidisciplinary rail projects from our regional offices in London and Croydon, working in conjunction with other regional teams and global design centres.

Position Overview

We are seeking to expand our team with a Principal Electrical Design Engineer who shares our enthusiasm and determination to support our growing workload.

Key Responsibilities

1. Proven Design Experience: Demonstrate expertise in LV and HV substation design, with a history of delivering rail projects that meet client satisfaction and adhere to standards. Ensure accuracy in drawings and calculations, and that designs are economical, constructible, compliant with relevant codes and standards.
2. Business Development & Leadership: Possess strong skills in client relationship management and business development, with the ability to develop and oversee the work of others.
3. Design & Technical Delivery: Develop concept and detailed designs, including calculations, reports, and specifications. Review CAD drawings and documentation produced by team members, liaise with designers and CAD technicians, and prepare technical reports.
4. Construction Support: Support the development of project specifications for construction, and attend site visits during construction to ensure compliance with specifications and drawings. Maintain a strong understanding of Health and Safety, including CDM regulations.

Qualifications

• BSc, BEng, or MEng degree in Electrical Engineering
• Chartered Engineer or working towards membership of a professional institution
• Experience with Network Rail, London Underground, Railway Group Standards, British Standards, and Eurocodes is preferred
