Are you interested in shaping the future of entertainment? Are you passionate about research that enables new consumer experiences, business capabilities, and drives efficiency? Prime Video is changing the way people watch movies and TV, and we want you to join us in that mission!

Prime Video is seeking a Principal Quantitative Researcher to help us deliver impactful, end-to-end research that illuminates new insights and opportunities to delight our customers. We’re looking for a highly motivated, creative, and detail-oriented researcher to join our team as we build the next generation of entertainment experiences on all devices and platforms – for millions of people around the world. You should be comfortable with ambiguity, enjoy building from scratch, and be able to tackle challenging issues efficiently. You thrive in triangulating insights with other quantitative data sources, such as experiment metrics, user logs, etc., and qualitative data inputs to tell compelling stories. As a part of the UX Researcher Team, you will be a key strategic partner to product and design teams, driving user-centered design and decision-making across the organization. You will deliver impactful research for major products or services, shaping our product strategy through data-driven insights.

Key job responsibilities include:

  • Independently design and lead quant-focused UX research projects (survey design, implementation, statistical analysis, quant usability, etc.)
  • Triangulate and synthesize survey insights with engagement metrics, live experiment metrics, user logs, and qualitative insights to create compelling narratives and actionable recommendations that drive product improvements and business strategy
  • Build mechanisms for regularly communicating insights leveraging strong writing and data visualization skills
  • Influence decision-makers at all levels to act on insights, driving customer delight and business objectives, and deliver well-structured and insightful reports
  • Drive research goals and programs across multiple stakeholders and teams, managing relationships and building consensus when faced with discordant views
  • Own the end-to-end lifecycle of study design, including survey design, programming, fielding, analysis, reporting, and communication
  • Demonstrable experience in areas such as sample design, conjoint surveys, data wrangling, survey weighting, causal analysis, experimental design, and multiple imputation
  • Contribute to strategic planning of the UX research roadmap and help evolve research practices to meet changing needs

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

  • PhD or MS in statistics, a quantitative field, experimental psychology, or a related discipline
  • 10+ years industry experience leading quantitative research, including survey measure development and validation, and applying quantitative methods in business settings
  • Proficiency in experimental and quasi-experimental methods
  • Experience with data analysis packages (R, SAS, Matlab, SPSS, etc.)
  • Mastery of statistical modeling and hypothesis testing
  • Strong skills in R, Python, or similar languages
  • Proficiency with SQL and data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau)
  • Experience with survey sampling strategies and weighting techniques
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Successful collaboration with qualitative researchers and data scientists
  • Experience mentoring researchers and driving team excellence
  • Experience with generative AI, NLP, and research applications
  • Domain expertise in streaming/entertainment and/or commerce
