Job summary

Signify Technology seeks a Principal Python Engineer in London to lead end-to-end engineering projects for Europe’s largest equities exchange. You’ll shape data pipelines and event streaming infra, mentor engineers across Europe and the US, and champion code quality with TDD and craftsmanship.

Expert Python, advanced SQL, Linux, and experience with Django/Flask/FastAPI are required; Java familiarity is a plus. Degree in CS preferred; financial markets experience is advantageous.

Qualifications

• Principal or Staff level Python engineer with strong leadership skills.
• Degree in Computer Science or related field preferred.
• Financial markets experience a strong plus — market data, order management, algorithmic trading or financial systems integration.
• Pride in code quality and engineering standards.

Responsibilities

• Lead complex engineering projects end to end.
• Mentor engineers across Europe and the US.
• Collaborate with BD and sales to deliver new products and features.
• Emphasize testable, maintainable code and TDD.
