Base pay range

Principal Psychologist – Fixed Term (Maternity Cover)

Location: Walsall area

Contract: Fixed Term – Full Time (9–12 months)

Key Health has an excellent opportunity for an experienced Principal Psychologist to join a leading specialist adult mental health service based in the Walsall area (West Midlands), easily accessible from Birmingham and Wolverhampton.

This is a fixed term contract to cover maternity leave, lasting between 9 and 12 months. The service provides innovative rehabilitation and recovery support for adults living with complex and enduring mental health conditions.

Key Responsibilities:

• Deliver individual psychological therapy to adults with complex mental health needs
• Conduct psychological assessments, develop formulations, and carry out psychometric evaluations
• Facilitate evidence-based group therapies
• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team (MDT) to deliver holistic, person-centred care
• Develop tailored treatment plans to support patient recovery and wellbeing
• Contribute to service development, audit projects, research initiatives, and professional development within the team
• Provide supervision, staff support, and reflective practice sessions to enhance team skills and resilience

About You:

• HCPC-registered Psychologist (or registration in progress)
• Proven experience delivering therapy to adults with severe and complex presentations
• Strong skills in psychological assessment, intervention planning, and facilitating group therapies
• Experience working effectively within a multidisciplinary environment
• Passion for service innovation and ongoing professional development
