Principal Psychologist Role

As a Principal Psychologist, you will play a key leadership role overseeing psychological services, providing clinical supervision and guidance to staff, and contributing to strategic initiatives.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  1. Leading and managing a team of psychologists and mental health professionals, ensuring high standards of clinical care and adherence to professional guidelines.
  2. Providing clinical supervision, mentoring, and support to junior psychologists and trainees, fostering their professional growth.
  3. Conducting psychological assessments, formulating treatment plans, and delivering evidence-based interventions across diverse client groups.
  4. Collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to provide holistic client care.
  5. Developing and delivering training programs, workshops, and seminars on psychological topics.
  6. Contributing to research and evaluation projects, sharing findings through publications and presentations.
  7. Engaging in continuous professional development to stay current with research and best practices.

Requirements:

  • Degree in Psychology.
  • Full registration with the HCPC as a Psychologist in the UK.
  • Significant post-qualification experience in psychology.
  • Leadership and management experience, including supervising staff.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a commitment to evidence-based practice.
  • Active participation in professional development activities.
  • Enhanced DBS check (dated within the last 12 months). If on the update service, you may be fast-tracked.
  • Willingness to complete an enhanced DBS if not currently held.
