Job summary

Ceto Talent is seeking a Senior Principal Project Planner for the Transpennine Route Upgrade (TRU) in the UK. This 12-month contract requires leading planning across complex engineering and construction workstreams and delivering integrated schedules.

12-Month Contract with potential extension

An excellent contract opportunity for a senior Principal Project Planner to support the Transpennine Route Upgrade (TRU), a major long-term rail infrastructure programme across the North of England.

We’re looking for an accomplished rail planning professional who can provide planning leadership across complex, integrated engineering and construction workstreams.

About You

You’ll bring:

• Significant rail project planning and scheduling experience.
• Experience leading planning teams and developing other planners.
• Strong knowledge of the PACE lifecycle, covering both project development and delivery phases.
• Major construction or engineering programme experience.
• Experience working with train and freight operator projects.
• Strong understanding of railway access, construction staging and constructability.
• Experience developing delivery strategies and output schedules.
• Strong schedule assurance and programme reporting experience.
• Ability to simplify complex programme information for senior stakeholders and non-planning audiences.
• Strong knowledge of planning and scheduling software.

TRU experience and knowledge of rail industry processes, systems and governance would be highly advantageous.

The Role

Working at Principal level, you’ll provide senior planning expertise across multiple TRU workstreams, including:

• Developing and integrating complex project schedules.
• Leading planning and scheduling activities.
• Reviewing construction staging and programme constructability.
• Supporting project development and delivery through PACE.
• Developing delivery strategies and integrated programme schedules.
• Providing schedule assurance and challenging delivery plans.
• Supporting railway access and resource planning.
• Working across project, engineering, operational and delivery teams.
