Role: Principal Consultant – P3MO

Salary: from £60,000

Location: Portsmouth

Sirius Analysis is a rapidly growing consultancy firm, renowned for our reputation and our keen ability to understand and meet customer requirements effectively. Our team is dedicated to delivering high-quality, end-to-end consultancy services, ranging from risk and investment analysis to P3M. We operate across multiple sectors, including defence, nuclear, space, and energy. We are looking for a Principal Consultant to join our Project Management team as we go through our next phase of growth.

The Role:

As a Principal Consultant (Principal Project Manager), you will play a pivotal role in delivering end-to-end project and programme management services to our clients. You will work closely with stakeholders, project teams, bid teams, and Account leads to ensure the successful delivery of projects and initiatives that align with business objectives. A key part of your role will also involve leading bid delivery and supporting management processes. This role offers the opportunity to work across diverse sectors, including defence, nuclear, space, and energy, and to contribute to the development of cutting-edge solutions.

  • Manage programmes and projects predominantly within defence-based arenas.
  • Deliver end-to-end management of technical projects according to best practice principles by planning, executing, and closing projects within strict deadlines and timescales.
  • Provide effective stakeholder management, communication management, risk management, resource management, scheduling, and reporting on projects.
  • Define project objectives and oversee quality control throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and meet quality standards.
  • Support project teams through review of plans and proposals, ensuring value for money and that delivery aligns with requirements.
  • Build and maintain successful relationships with current customers.
  • Maintain working relationships with project teams and third-party suppliers.
  • Identify and pursue new business opportunities in line with company objectives.
  • Manage the end-to-end bid process, from opportunity identification to proposal submission.
  • Manage bid resources effectively.

About You:

Candidates should have expertise in some or all of the following areas:

  • APM or equivalent project management qualifications with substantial knowledge of agile project management.
  • Degree-level education and/or relevant experience.
  • Technically astute, highly experienced Programme/Project Manager with significant experience across various project environments and scales.
  • Evidence of continuous professional development in project management.
  • Strong skills in stakeholder management, including influencing, negotiation, and conflict resolution.
  • Experience in writing proposals and managing bid activities.
  • Experience managing multiple technical projects simultaneously through full lifecycle.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and writing skills.
  • Ability to represent the company professionally in client-facing roles.
  • Support in framework proposals and refreshes, including monitoring opportunities and advising stakeholders.
  • Willingness and ability to travel and work at client sites across the UK and potentially worldwide.
