Principal Product Manager, iTwin Platform

Position Summary

As a Principal Platform Product Manager in Bentley Systems' iTwin Platform group, you will be part of a dedicated team of Product Managers at the forefront of evolving our platform technologies, services, and tools. Your role is crucial in delivering PaaS-based digital twin capabilities, enhancing developer productivity and user experience for digital twin native products. You will collaborate actively within and beyond the iTwin Platform team, including product, UX, and development teams.

Success in this role means driving iTwin Platform adoption, leading cross-functional teams to develop and deliver innovative features that meet the needs of our internal product teams, who are our users, and accelerating the integration of digital twins in our products.

Your work will enhance the iTwin Platform’s value, streamline digital twin integration, and improve both developer and user experiences. As a Platform PM, your influence will span across product lines, impacting the future of infrastructure design and management products, reinforcing Bentley’s leadership in digital twins.

We seek someone with extensive experience in managing software products and a proven track record of strategy creation and implementation. Your role requires balancing strategic planning with agile execution. You should be enthusiastic, growth-minded, and comfortable working with empowered product teams.

Responsibilities:

1. Lead development and launch of innovative product and platform capabilities, working closely with engineers, designers, and stakeholders to define vision, strategy, and roadmap. Conduct user research, analyze data, and test hypotheses to validate assumptions and deliver value.
2. Develop strategies and roadmaps to enhance the iTwin Platform’s portfolio, focusing on integrating digital twins with Bentley and third-party products.
3. Perform research to understand developer and user needs, along with industry trends, to improve the platform.
4. Define strategic business outcomes and establish quarterly Objectives and Key Results (OKRs) aligned with Bentley's goals.
5. Manage and communicate OKRs and plans transparently with stakeholders and leadership.
6. Lead discovery initiatives for developing innovative platform capabilities through experimentation.
7. Collaborate with UX designers, developers, and product team members to execute strategy.
8. Monitor platform performance using KPIs to ensure continuous improvement.
9. Build relationships across teams for capability development, prioritization, and adoption.
10. Develop policies and procedures, supporting and empowering teams.

Qualifications:

• Minimum of 10+ years in product management and development, focusing on developer enablement; Platform PM experience is highly desirable.
• Strong product sense, technical skills, and communication skills.
• Experience managing cross-functional initiatives with high organizational visibility.
• Extensive knowledge of SaaS or PaaS product management practices.
• Proven leadership in high-performing, empowered teams.
• Technical proficiency for collaboration with engineering teams.
• Passion for developer and customer needs.
• Comfort with ambiguity and evolving ideas from conception to launch.
• Ability to balance strategic vision with operational management.
• Exceptional communication skills for diverse audiences.
• Understanding of digital twin technologies, AI/ML, and familiarity with Bentley’s iTwin Platform is advantageous.
• Advanced degree in Business, Computer Science, or related field.
