Job Description:

Hello! We're Teya.

Teya is a payment and software service provider, headquartered in London serving small, local businesses across Europe. Founded in 2019, we build easy to use, integrated tools that enable our members to accept payments and boost business performance.

At Teya we believe small, local businesses are the lifeblood of our communities.

We’re here because we don’t believe there’s a level playing field that gives small businesses with a fighting chance against the giants of the high street. We’re here because we see banks and legacy service providers making things harder for them. We don’t think the best technology or the best service should be reserved for those with the biggest headquarters. We’re here to fight for a future where small, local businesses can thrive, and to commit the same dedication they offer all of us.

Become a part of our story.

We’re looking for exceptional talent to join our mission. We offer a chance to create impact in a high-energy and connected culture, while benefiting from continuous learning opportunities, a supportive community which is proud to serve our mission, and comprehensive benefits.

Job mission

You will join Teya’s Business Account team. This is a new and dynamic product area within Teya which seeks to build a business account that SMBs love to use every single day. We already have a small customer base which is rapidly expanding – creating some exciting opportunities and challenges to address.

The role will entail:

  • Contributing to the overall product vision and strategy, particularly in areas related to payment initiation, card issuance, and open banking-based services.
  • Owning delivery of specific roadmap items and building new product roadmaps in the future.
  • Working closely with product design, engineering, risk, compliance, and other key internal stakeholders to build and deliver new product features.
  • Performing regular customer interviews to develop user stories and inform feature prioritisation.
  • Working closely with finance and accounting teams to build robust backend financial processes for safeguarding and reconciliation, including continuous optimization of liquidity management.
  • Collaborating closely with card scheme partners and processors to ensure continuous improvement in the performance of Teya’s debit card offering.
  • Working with senior leadership and finance teams to develop forecasts for planning cycles and building business cases to justify investments in new areas.
  • Refining existing mechanisms and developing new ones to inspect product metrics on a regular basis.
  • Using your excellent communication skills to advocate for the product and achieve alignment at all levels of the business.
  • Contributing to building a strong product culture within Teya.

Qualifications

The successful candidate will be customer-first in their approach, extremely detail-oriented, and comfortable working in a dynamic and fast-paced organisation. The ideal candidate will have experience working on an SMB banking product in the past – preferably in the fintech space.

Experience and abilities we are specifically looking for include:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a science or business-related field. Master’s degrees a plus.
  • 5+ years of experience in banking. Experience in B2B banking, particularly with SMBs is a plus.
  • Minimum of 3 years experience in product management. More experience is a plus.
  • Proven track record of delivering new products and features. Experience scaling an early-stage product at a fintech is a plus.
  • Solid understanding of e-money concepts and regulation in the UK. Prior experience in building safeguarding processes will be a plus.
  • Experience working with card issuance and processing. Track record of scaling an issuing business is a plus.
  • High attention to detail, with ability to work on multiple priorities at the same time.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills. Able to influence at all levels within the organisation using clear data and documentation.
  • Strong quantitative and analytical skills. Self-service skills in pulling and processing data is a plus (incl. proficiency in SQL).
  • Strong stakeholder management skills.
