Job summary

Access Talent Group in the UK is seeking a Principal Process Engineer in the Water sector, based in Andover with hybrid working. You will lead multidisciplinary process design projects and mentor engineers across Process, Mechanical and Electrical disciplines to support delivery.

The role requires a Chemical Engineering degree (BSc/MSc) and Chartered status (CEng) or active pursuit, plus extensive water treatment process knowledge and regulatory compliance experience.

Responsibilities

• Lead process engineering activities on standalone and integrated projects.
• Provide expert technical guidance to project teams and stakeholders.

• Review and provide feedback on process work by others.
• Collaborate with internal teams and external stakeholders including clients and contractors.

Access Talent Group are currently recruiting for a medium sized design consultants in the UK who are looking for a Principal Process Engineer within the Water sector.

This established engineering team in the Water and Waste sector is seeking an experienced Process Engineer to lead multidisciplinary design projects and support project delivery. This role includes technical leadership responsibilities and line management of a group of developing engineers across Process, Mechanical, and Electrical disciplines.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead process engineering activities on both standalone and integrated engineering projects.
• Provide expert technical guidance to project teams, promoting best practices and innovative solutions.
• Conduct site visits and process assessments of existing water infrastructure.
• Develop and review process designs, specifications, and associated technical documentation.
• Review and provide feedback on process work completed by others.
• Collaborate effectively with internal teams and external stakeholders, including clients, contractors, and other design disciplines.
• Ensure designs meet project and client specifications while adhering to relevant industry standards.
• Maintain strong working relationships with colleagues across engineering disciplines.
• Significant experience in process engineering within the Water and Waste sector.
• In-depth knowledge of water treatment technologies, processes, and applicable regulations.
• Background in both outline and detailed process design.
• Familiarity with applicable standards, codes of practice, and health & safety legislation.
• Proficient in current engineering design tools and methods.
• Strong communication skills and a collaborative, team-oriented approach.

Preferred Experience

• Working knowledge of ATEX/DSEAR requirements.
• Experience in HAZOP (Hazard and Operability) analysis.
