JOB DESCRIPTION

The Role:


We have an opportunity for a Principal Process Control Engineer to join our team in Reading on an agency basis. You will provide support to FEED & EPC projects.


RESPONSIBILITIES


  1. Provides process control expertise to projects during FEED and EPC design phases
  2. Develops process control designs, undertakes process control design work of units and checks work on the project as appropriate
  3. Resolves process control related issues by applying accepted principles, codes and standards
  4. Undertakes checking or approval of process calculations in accordance with Wood procedures
  5. Prepares or checks process control design deliverables for review, such as Process Control Narratives, Cause and Effect drawings, SIF register and P&IDs
  6. Executes process control activities within the budget and schedule, maintaining technical integrity of the designs
  7. Executes process activities to ensure a high standard of safety is achieved and Environmental and Quality Assurance procedures are followed
  8. Provides input to Hazops, SIL and other safety reviews
  9. Participates in technical meetings and handles discussions with client engineers
  10. Supports the Process Project Manager in accomplishing project objectives

QUALIFICATIONS


  1. Chemical Engineering degree (minimum), (Chartered Engineer status is highly beneficial)
  2. A good amount of experience within a contractor, operator, consultancy or other relevant organisation
  3. A self-motivated individual with excellent verbal and written communication skills
  4. Proof of work on approved technical investigation projects and computer programs
