Job description

Principal Private Sector Housing Officer
North West London
3 to 6 month ongoing contract
Mon to Fri 9am to 5pm (Hybrid Position)
£35 to £40 p/hr umbrella (negotiable depending on experience)


Responsibilities
• Carry out Enforcement functions including to enable the Council to meet its statutory obligations of environmental protection, including inspection, enforcement, education and advice.
• Carry out Enforcement functions in a customer facing front line environment representing Harrow Council in often challenging circumstances in the execution of duties.
• Carry out Enforcement functions between 25% - 40% from an office base, and from between 60% to 75% from site-based visits to premises in Harrow Council, carrying appropriate equipment.
• Work as part of an Enforcement team in accordance with statutory requirements and in compliance with relevant Council policies and procedures.
• Represent the Council as a duly authorised Officer to educate and work in partnership with relevant internal and external organisations to enhance the safety and wellbeing of the public

Requirements
- Must have experience working in a housing association or council
-This role requires someone who has at least 2 years working within this field, in a local authority setting.
- It is essential that you hold the HHSRS certification
