Job description

Job Title: Principal Power Systems Electrical Engineer

Location: Barrow-In-Furness, Filton, Brough, Portsmouth, Weymouth, Frimley, or Manchester – with hybrid and flexible working options. Please consult your recruiter for details.

What you’ll be doing:

• Conduct load flow, short circuit, and stability analysis of electrical power systems.
• Manage and analyze electrical load budgets.
• Develop and validate electrical models.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, suppliers, and stakeholders on power system matters.
• Prepare technical reports, calculations, and presentations to communicate results and recommendations.
• Develop and mentor team members.

Your skills and experiences:

• Degree or equivalent in electrical engineering.
• Chartered Engineer or working towards chartership.
• Knowledge of high power and medium voltage power systems and distributions.
• Experience with electrical load budget and load flow analysis.
• Familiarity with power system analysis software (e.g., ETAP, Simulink/Simscape, MATLAB).
