Job summary

Charnwood Borough Council is seeking an experienced Principal Solicitor (Planning) to join its supportive legal team. The role focuses on high-quality planning and development work with flexible, fully remote working options and a modern case management system.

The ideal candidate is a qualified solicitor, chartered legal executive or barrister with extensive planning experience and the ability to work autonomously while collaborating with the team.

Qualifications

• Experience advising on planning and development management matters.
• Ability to manage a varied caseload with minimal supervision.

Responsibilities

• Drafting of section 106, deeds of variation and unilateral undertakings.
• Manage planning appeals, Judicial Review and statutory challenges.
• Provide general advice on town and country planning law.
