The RoleYou will:
Manage your own caseload of major and complex planning applications.
Provide expert guidance and advice on development management and planning policy.
Lead negotiations with developers and act as the councils planning expert in public inquiries and appeals.
Support policy development, including CIL/S106 and Neighbourhood Plans.
Influence strategic projects across the borough through high-level engagement and problem-solving.
RTPI-accredited degree or equivalent and full (or working toward full) RTPI membership.
Proven local authority experience managing large-scale planning applications or policy development.
Strong negotiation skills with developers and stakeholders.
Excellent written and verbal communication abilities, including report writing.
Ability to work independently and deliver under pressure with minimal supervision.
Standard rate: £38.13 per hour
Hybrid working model with on-site attendance in DN1 as required
