Osborne Richardson is seeking a Principal Town Planner to join their client’s Development Management Team in the West Midlands. You will lead on complex major and minor planning applications, provide pre- and post-application advice, and present reports to various audiences.

The role requires substantial local authority town planning experience, detailed knowledge of statutory and policy frameworks, and a degree (ideally with professional accreditation).

Job description

Our client requires a Principle Town Planner to join their Development Management Team and lead on a series of planning applications.

You will be joining an experienced and welcoming team of officers and will be assisting with primarily reallocated complex minor and major applications and pre-applications, and associated appeals. You will also be responsible for guiding proposals through the development process including examining, processing and evaluating major planning and related applications including pre-and post-application advice, site inspections, negotiations, preparation and presentation of reports to a range of audiences.

To apply for this role you will need a significant amount of town planning work experience gained within a local authority context. A detailed knowledge of the statutory and policy framework within which planning decisions are made is absolutely essential as are formal qualifications; minimum to degree level and ideally with professional accreditation.

This contract will initially be a 3 month contract but there is potential for extension beyond this.

Our client is a Local Authority in the West Midlands and the rate offered is £50/hr Umbrella. This role is inside IR35.

Our client offers a hybrid working arrangement with 2 days a week in the office (one of which will be a Tuesday) and 3 at home. You will also need to have access to your own car/vehicle.
