Job description

Osborne Richardson are working with a Local Authority in Surrey which requires an interim Principal Planner to join them for 12 month contract.

This role is within their Development Management teams and this post holder will be dealing with major and complex planning applications as well as line managing a team of Planning Officers.

The main responsibilities of the post include processing complex and varied planning applications, including the preparation of case officer/committee reports, providing professional pre-application advice to the public, members and developers via their pre-application advice service and daily duty officer phone line and presenting applications at Planning Committee meetings.

In order to be considered for this role you will need to have a Degree or equivalent in Town and Planning or a related discipline, be a member of the RTPI and have extensive working knowledge and experience of development management processes, ideally within a Local Authority setting.

The rate offered will depend on your experience but is expected to be between £45-£50/hr Umbrella. This role is inside IR35.

Our client offers hybrid working, office attendance is generally once a week.
