Job summary

TipTopJob in Warwickshire is seeking an experienced Principal Planner to join our established environmental and planning consultancy. You will lead complex planning projects, manage client relationships and coordinate multidisciplinary teams to deliver practical planning solutions.

The role requires in-depth knowledge of UK planning policy, strong project management skills, and the ability to supervise Environmental Impact Assessments and planning applications from inception to submission.

Qualifications

• Significant professional experience within town planning / planning consultancy.
• Strong knowledge of the UK planning system, planning policy and environmental legislation.
• Experience managing planning projects from inception through to delivery.
• Experience coordinating multidisciplinary project teams.
• Experience with EIA and Environmental Statements would be advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Lead and contribute to a range of planning and environmental projects.
• Provide technical support and planning advice to senior colleagues and project teams.
• Manage projects from initial instruction through to completion.
• Coordinate internal and external technical specialists.
• Provide clear advice on UK planning policy, legislation and environmental requirements.
• Lead Environmental Impact Assessments (EIA) and Environmental Statements.
• Oversee preparation and submission of planning applications.
• Support Development Consent Order (DCO) applications where required.
• Liaise with clients, local planning authorities, regulators and stakeholders.
• Mentor junior team members.
