Job Description

A Principal/Associate Planner is required for this Hampshire based company. You will have very good knowledge of, and experience of working within, the UK planning system. You will have responsibility for own planning projects and casework and be the key point of contact for clients and provide them with expert advice. You will deal with new enquires, as well as also assist with, and take on, project work from the Directors and other senior consultants.

You will have a varied workload, covering both rural and urban planning.

You will build relationships with new and existing clients and work towards building your own client base. You will help generate new work and grow the company, and also help mentor junior members of staff.

For this position you will have:

  • A good level of planning experience and knowledge, either within a consultancy or local authority environment at senior level.
  • Demonstrable experience of the planning process including the preparation and submission of applications and appeals
  • Strong report writing skills and experience of delivering positive outcomes on a range of planning applications
  • Good analytical skills
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
  • The ability to build relationships with clients and question effectively
  • The ability to solve problems and look for solutions, as well as identify opportunities
  • Good project management skills
  • Good time management skills be well orgainsed
  • The ability to prioritise work and deal with competing demands
  • Good IT skills
  • The ability to work flexibly and be able and willing to help others

Requirements:

  • Full RTPI accreditation (or working towards)
  • UK Driving Licence
  • Work out of hours (when required)
