About the Opportunity

As a Principal Physicist, you will be expected to lead medium to large projects or tasks independently, possibly overseeing teams working on those projects. You will be responsible for the technical delivery of the tasks and for technical interactions with clients, including setting scope and providing solutions to our clients' problems. Key skills required:

  1. Detailed knowledge and experience within a physics discipline required in the nuclear industry such as transient analysis, reactor physics, shielding, thermal hydraulics, etc.
  2. Significant experience within the nuclear sector or academia leading challenging technical projects.
  3. Ability to assimilate, analyse and provide judgments on complex technical issues clearly and concisely.
  4. Good consultancy skills, including communication, teamwork, adaptability to client requirements, and time management. Likely experience interacting with senior clients, regulators, or other stakeholders.
  5. Good commercial awareness and the ability to effectively solve client issues in a commercially competitive environment.
  6. Familiarity with nuclear safety assessments and safety case construction.

Qualifications

  • Nuclear master's and PhDs are preferred, or a Degree or Post Graduate qualification in a relevant engineering or scientific discipline.
  • Ability to assimilate, analyse and provide judgments on complex technical issues clearly and concisely.
  • Good consultancy skills, including communication, teamwork, adaptability to client requirements, and time management.
