Job Description

Design and layout complex multi-layer (4 – 20 layers) Printed Circuit Boards for use in various sectors including commercial, security, aerospace, and space, managing multiple projects from research to production.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and layout complex multi-layer PCBs, including through, buried, and blind vias, following company processes.
• Create PCB layouts for analogue, RF, digital, power, high-speed, and highly reliable circuits, considering security, EMC, and TEMPEST standards.
• Incorporate test points into PCB designs for testability without compromising performance.
• Collaborate with hardware and mechanical teams to ensure design specifications, space constraints, and compliance are met.
• Coordinate with fabricators and assembly houses to ensure design quality and manufacturability.
• Manage CAD libraries and maintain design tools and processes.
• Lead and manage other PCB layout engineers, estimate project timelines, and propose process improvements.
• Participate in design reviews, develop technical proposals, and communicate complex concepts clearly.
• Ensure security and compliance with government regulations.

Qualifications / Skills

Essential:

• Degree in engineering, mathematics, or science, or equivalent experience.
• Experience in designing complex, high-density PCBs with industry-standard tools.
• Knowledge of routing practices, IPC standards, and DFM/DFT implementation.

Desirable:

• Experience with Altium or PADs, schematic capture, thermal management, Gerber and ODB++ files, Windchill.
