Job description

Job Description

Do you enjoy working in safety-critical industries? Do you like delivering solutions to technically complex problems? Join us as a Senior / Principal Structural Integrity Safety Case Engineer and play a vital role in assessing the risks for our nuclear clients to help them and us realize our low-carbon energy ambitions, shaping a better future for our planet and its people. This is a great opportunity to join one of the strongest structural integrity safety case capabilities in the industry, working across all key clients.

Your purpose:

On a typical day, you might be leading a team to produce engineering substantiation or authoring a complex safety case, justifying and supporting critical decision-making in the design, operation, and decommissioning of nuclear facilities. Alternatively, you may influence the client’s strategic direction to address structural integrity challenges associated with new build designs or ongoing operations, network to develop the business pipeline, or deliver technical presentations to regulators.

This role offers opportunities to work with diverse clients, including nuclear generation (Advanced Gas Cooled Reactors and Sizewell B), Rolls Royce Pressurized Water Reactors, nuclear new build projects like Hinkley Point C and Sizewell C, and innovative sectors such as fusion and SMR markets. You should be keen to lead project delivery, solve complex technical problems, and communicate solutions effectively to stakeholders. A drive for delivering excellent technical work with attention to detail while maintaining a strategic overview is essential.

You will also contribute to and learn from the wider technical community within AtkinsRéalis, leveraging global expertise and fostering collaboration across multidisciplinary teams. Additionally, you will mentor junior engineers to support our growth and enhance our project delivery capabilities, while developing your leadership skills.
