About the role

We have a new opportunity for a Principal or Associate Mechanical Engineer to join our team in Oxford or Cambridge.

Our offices serve as local project bases, with expertise in complex sectors like Science, Research, and Healthcare.

As a Principal or Associate Engineer, you will support and deliver project designs across various types and sizes, working within a multidisciplinary team to provide high-quality client service, fostering repeat business and profitability.

In this role, you will:

  • Manage client relationships and develop new opportunities.
  • Promote our full range of services and contribute to bids.
  • Define and agree project briefs, take ownership, and deliver profitable schemes.
  • Lead larger projects, coordinate disciplines, and serve as main client contact.
  • Support and develop a local team, contributing to staff growth.
  • Manage project workload, delegate tasks, and review work.
  • Monitor project expenditure and report on costs and resources.
  • Ensure quality standards, technical accuracy, and risk management.

About you

To succeed, you should have:

  • Proven experience as a Mechanical Engineer in delivering complex projects.
  • Knowledge of heating, ventilation, and air conditioning systems.
  • Experience working in multidisciplinary teams with strong communication skills.
  • Proficiency in Revit and AutoCAD.
  • Self-awareness, openness, and generosity.
  • Familiarity with British Standards.
  • Consultancy experience, understanding the impact of acoustics, fire engineering, and modeling on design.
