A leading defense company is seeking a Principal Nuclear Safety Engineer to provide leadership and oversight in the Nuclear Safety and Regulation Department. This role supports critical projects with strategic international importance while ensuring compliance with nuclear safety standards. The position offers hybrid working arrangements and is based in Barrow-in-Furness. Candidates should have extensive knowledge of nuclear safety legislation and experience in regulatory frameworks.

The Nuclear Safety and Regulation Department oversees nuclear regulation for site. The team provides specialist advice and services regarding nuclear/radiological safety standards and compliance, development of safety cases, and maintains the licence to operate. The purpose of this role is to provide leadership, oversight and management of a team of nuclear safety specialist roles to deliver defined work packages and provide essential nuclear safety support to major programmes of work of strategic and international importance.
