Job description
Overview

An opportunity for an experienced and highly motivated Band 8A Nuclear Medicine Clinical Scientist to join the Nuclear Medicine Department at St Bartholomew’s Hospital. The postholder will take a leading role in the management and organisation of radiation safety compliance for the department and will work to develop clinical and management skills in a challenging but rewarding role. The Nuclear Medicine Department at Barts Health conducts in excess of 10,000 imaging investigations across three sites using five gamma cameras and two PET/CT cameras, and offers a full suite of in‑vitro tests and a wide range of nuclear medicine therapy services. We are committed to providing outstanding patient care and seek a clinical scientist who shares this vision.

Responsibilities
  • Participate in and assist with the provision of high‑standard scientific and technical service to Nuclear Medicine and PET/CT, ensuring activities are carried out within a quality framework and meet regulatory requirements.
  • Take a major role in ensuring compliance with radiation safety legislation and guidance.
  • Assist with the unsealed radionuclide therapy service.
  • Carry out quality assurance measurements on imaging and other radiation‑detecting equipment.
  • Assist in the commissioning of major imaging equipment.
