About the Opportunity

We are recruiting a Principal Nuclear Graphite Engineer to support the life extension of the AGR fleet and develop strategies for expanding our client base beyond traditional customers. Your role will involve delivering solutions to meet UK energy demands and carbon targets.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in nuclear graphite and structural integrity, supporting clients in extending plant lifetimes and developing new business relationships, especially with vendors of new graphite reactor designs.

You will be part of our Structural Analysis and Assessment Team, which includes experts in various engineering and scientific fields, providing services mainly to the nuclear industry to ensure safe, economical operation of plant. The team actively participates in national and international projects and collaborates across Amentum to deliver integrated solutions.

Our team excels at hybrid working, with days at home and in our offices in Warrington, Knutsford, and Manchester.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide technical oversight and leadership on projects related to nuclear graphite.
  • Develop bespoke engineering solutions with colleagues and clients.
  • Engage with clients throughout project lifecycles.
  • Implement and develop strategies to expand the team’s client base.
  • Produce high-quality technical reports.

  • Maintain and develop the team’s technical capabilities.

Requirements
