WSP is looking to grow our Mine Engineering & Stability Team, offering integrated mining studies and advisory services to meet our clients' objectives and solve their challenges.

Are you an experienced long-term planner with a track record in mining operations and studies? A Principal Mining Engineer seeking a change, or a Senior Mining Engineer looking for a step up? We offer work-life balance with flexible arrangements between office and home.

Reporting to the Technical Director Mining, based in London or elsewhere in the UK, we seek individuals with strong technical skills and a passion to innovate. Join the world's largest mining consultancy and start your journey—what you do next is up to you.

What you’ll do…

1. Lead and manage mining studies and projects throughout all stages of the lifecycle.
2. Provide expert advice on mining methods, development paths, and optimization strategies to clients.
3. Develop cost models and conduct financial analyses, from options studies to project economics.
4. Support due diligence reviews for mergers, acquisitions, or project finance, collaborating with multidisciplinary teams.
5. Act as an interface between mine advisory disciplines and other groups such as capital projects, asset management, and environmental teams.
6. Travel domestically and internationally as required to support project work.
7. Provide safety leadership by identifying and addressing high-priority hazards.
8. Mentor and support junior and senior engineers, fostering professional growth.

We’ll be looking for you to demonstrate…

• Bachelor’s degree in Mine Engineering.
• Proven experience in a similar mining role.
• Proficiency in mine planning software (e.g., Deswik, Vulcan, Surpac) and other relevant tools.
• Leadership qualities and ability to mentor others.
• Strong communication, report writing, and problem-solving skills.
• Consulting experience is highly regarded.
