Job summary

Teledyne Technologies Incorporated's Chelmsford Space Imaging team seeks a Principal Mechanical Engineer to lead the design and delivery of mechanical systems for space imaging sensors and related front-end electronics.

You will guide NPI programs from concept through production, own gate reviews, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure manufacturability, reliability, and on-schedule delivery. Strong Creo, FEA, and materials expertise are required.

Qualifications

Experience delivering space or aerospace products using NPI processes (SRR, PDR, CDR).
Mechanical engineering degree with strong CAD and design for manufacture focus.
Proven ability to interpret FEA results and apply insights to design.
Knowledge of materials, manufacturing processes, and mechanical systems.

Responsibilities

Lead mechanical engineering development across projects, translating specs into robust designs.
Own detailed mechanical documentation for gate reviews and design reviews.
Drive design and procurement processes to meet schedules and budgets.
Identify and resolve technical problems during the design phase and assess risks.
Collaborate with process engineers and project teams to deliver robust solutions.
