Job summary

Teledyne Technologies Incorporated sits within the Chelmsford Space Imaging unit. We are seeking a Principal Mechanical Engineer to lead the design, development and implementation of mechanical systems for space imaging sensors, test cameras, and front-end electronics.

You will drive design for manufacture, oversee assembly/test jigging and packaging, and collaborate with process engineers and project managers to deliver robust solutions on time and within budget.

Qualifications

• Degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
• Experience in Space/Aerospace projects.
• Proficiency in CAD and FEA.
• Knowledge of ECSS and MIL-STD standards is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Lead mechanical design for space imaging sensors from concept to manufacturing.
• Develop assembly/test jigs and transport packaging solutions.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to meet requirements.
• Provide detailed engineering documentation for gate reviews.
• Identify and resolve design issues with robust solutions.
