Vertical Recruitment is partnering with a leading international engineering consultancy to appoint a Principal Mechanical Engineer in Manchester. You will lead mechanical building services across complex projects, providing technical leadership and engaging with clients in a busy, mission critical environment.

You will mentor engineers, drive technical standards, and coordinate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure delivery on time and within budget across large-scale programmes.

Principal Mechanical Engineer

Vertical Recruitment is working with a leading international engineering consultancy to appoint a Principal Mechanical Engineer to join their growing Manchester team.

This is an opportunity to play a key role in the design and delivery of some of the most complex and technically demanding projects in the built environment. Working within a highly respected mission critical team, you will lead electrical design across major programmes while helping to develop engineers and shape technical standards across the business.

As a Principal Engineer, you will take ownership of mechanical engineering delivery across large-scale projects from concept through to completion. You will provide technical leadership, work closely with clients and multidisciplinary teams, and contribute to the successful delivery of high-performance infrastructure where resilience, reliability and efficiency are paramount.

While data centre experience would be highly advantageous, we are also keen to speak with candidates who have delivered projects within other complex and mission critical environments such as healthcare, pharmaceutical, defence, advanced manufacturing or major infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities

Technical Leadership

• Lead the design and delivery of mechanical building services systems across complex projects
