Job description

My client is looking for a Technical Specialist (Mechanical) to work within a dedicated R&D eMotor team in Bicester, Oxfordshire.
The company designs, develops and tests tailor-made, highly efficient compact electric powertrains, drives, machines and inverters for traction applications. As part of their UK expansion, they are looking for talented Engineers to join our Research & Development team.

Ideal candidate requires:

  1. Extensive experience with Mechanical Design of Electric Motors, Inverters and Gearboxes.
  2. Extensive experience with 3D CAD software (Solidworks preferred, but open for others).
  3. Experience with calculation and definitions of bearings, gears and seals.
  4. Experience with castings, plastics parts, weldings, assembly tooling, jigs and fixtures.
  5. Experience with 2D drawings, GD&T, design for manufacture, FMEA.
  6. Experience with cooling systems and systems integration.
  7. Experience with performance, validation and lifetime testing.

Desirable skills:

  1. Desirable experience with Mechanical Stress analysis and CFD.
