Job summary

PRS Recruitment is partnering with a major international engineering consultancy to recruit a Principal Mechanical Engineer for hyperscale and colocation data centre projects across the UK and beyond. The role offers technical leadership, strategic influence and mentoring opportunities within a growing international practice.

You will lead design delivery, coordinate multidisciplinary teams and drive energy efficiency and sustainability across critical infrastructure environments.

Qualifications

• Significant mechanical engineering experience in data centre design and delivery.
• Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Building Services Engineering or related field.
• Chartered Engineer status or equivalent accreditation.
• Experience leading engineering teams and delivering large, complex projects.

Responsibilities

• Leading mechanical engineering design and delivery across complex data centre developments.
• Developing resilient cooling, HVAC and mechanical infrastructure solutions.
• Managing multidisciplinary engineering teams and coordinating technical delivery.
• Working closely with hyperscale and colocation clients throughout the project lifecycle.
• Driving technical excellence, innovation, sustainability and energy efficiency.
• Overseeing engineering quality, project programmes and technical compliance.
• Contributing to technical proposals, client relationships and future business growth.
• Mentoring engineers and supporting the development of the wider technical team.
