Job summary

Amentum in Birchwood Park, Warrington is seeking a Principal Mechanical Engineer to advance tools for early retrievals/operations of the MSSS SEP machines. You will lead a small team of designers and engineers to translate requirements into concepts, trials and deployable solutions.

The role requires innovative thinking, strong design-for-manufacture experience, and ability to interact with SL Innovation teams, site manufacturing capabilities, and external contractors to deliver reliable tooling

Qualifications

• Understand the roles and specifications of CDM.
• Experience producing design packages, suitable for manufacture and installation, containing drawings, method statements, risks assessments.
• Familiarity and experience of working and complying with applicable SL practices, standards and engineering guides.

Responsibilities

• Lead a small team of designers/engineers to develop bespoke tools from concept to manufacture.
• Act as the single point of contact from initial request through to handover of a fully functional tool to MSSS plant operation teams.
• Coordinate with SL Innovation teams, site-wide manufacturing capability and other contractors.

For our team in Birchwood Park, Warrington we are seeking a Principal Mechanical Engineer to continue the development of tools to support early retrievals/ operations of the MSSS SEP machines. This role requires an innovative individual with experience within this field. This role will involve managing a small team of designer / engineers to understand the requirements, further specify requirements and to continue the development of bespoke tools, through concepts, trials and manufacture into fully deployable solutions. In addition, the Principal Engineer will act as the single points of contact from initial request through to handover of a fully functional toll to MSSS plant operation teams. To successfully carry out this role, it will be necessary to integrate and manage other groups such the SL Innovation teams, the site wide manufacturing capability and other contractors.

Requirements

HNC/ HND/ Scientific or Engineering Degree
