About Your Opportunity:

Principal Mechanical Engineer Role:

Support all Mechanical designs, conduct Finite Element Analysis (FEA) and Thermal Analysis (CFD). Act as a point of contact for customers, liaising with manufacturers and test houses.

Sign off on mechanical designs, ensure team conformity to processes during design, development, and build, and ensure compliance with all requirements.

Produce, review, and approve technical documentation to support on-time delivery, and organize CAD activities using various CAD applications.

Your Responsibilities:

  • Act as SME for Mechanical design engineering across the business.
  • Analyze and justify mechanical designs and component choices.
  • Resolve mechanical issues during hardware phases.
  • Ensure configuration management activities are followed within the mechanical team.
  • Support mechanical/electro-mechanical design on multiple programmes.
  • Lead the mechanical team to ensure process and requirements compliance.
  • Produce, review, and approve technical documentation (drawings, BOMs).

Your Experience:

  • Extensive experience in Mechanical Design Engineering.
  • Engineering degree or extensive experience without a degree.
  • Knowledge of mechanical Defence Standards.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
  • Work effectively under pressure in a dynamic environment.
