Job description

The Belfast office is looking for a Principal Mechanical Engineer with a mechanical engineering background to join their established team based in Belfast.

This is a great opportunity for an ambitious, client-facing Engineer to take a leading role on a variety of exciting projects across Northern Ireland. To be successful in this role, you will be a self-motivated, confident individual with team leadership skills, able to deliver high-profile projects to the highest standards.

What you’ll do!

  • Maintain client relationships with several key clients.
  • Undertake quality checks and promote technical excellence.
  • Be accountable for the team's results and adherence to the budget.
  • Act as a mentor to staff and promote CPD activities.
  • Carry out risk assessments and value engineering.
  • Contribute to and provide information for fee proposals.

Qualifications & Requirements:

  • Extensive experience in mechanical building services design.
  • Knowledge of a wide range of market sectors.
  • Ability to provide technically sound design solutions.
  • Experience from conceptual design to project completion, dealing directly with clients.
  • Relevant experience within a consultancy or similar business.
  • Relevant experience in Electrical Engineering design, including specifications, calculations, and developing designs from first principles.
