Job summary

Vertical Recruitment is working with a leading international engineering consultancy to appoint a Principal Mechanical Engineer to join their growing Manchester team. This is an opportunity to play a key role in the design and delivery of some of the most complex and technically demanding projects in the built environment.

You will take ownership of mechanical engineering delivery across large-scale projects from concept through to completion, providing technical leadership and liaising with

• Experience leading mechanical design across large-scale projects.
• Strong background in building services and facilities.
• Ability to mentor and develop engineers.

Responsibilities

• Lead the design and delivery of mechanical building services systems across complex projects
• Provide technical guidance and support to project teams throughout all design stages
• Ensure high standards of quality, compliance and technical excellence
• Review and approve engineering designs and technical documentation
• Manage mechanical engineering packages from concept through to completion
• Coordinate effectively with multidisciplinary design teams
• Support project planning, programme delivery and resource management
• Contribute to the successful delivery of projects within budget and programme constraints
• Build and maintain strong relationships with clients and project stakeholders
• Represent the electrical discipline during client meetings and technical workshops
• Provide practical and commercially aware engineering solutions
• Support business development activities where appropriate
• Mentor and support engineers at all levels
• Share technical knowledge and best practice across the wider team
• Assist with developing future technical leaders within the business
• Promote a collaborative and supportive working environment
