Job description

FinTrU is looking for an experienced Principal Machine Learning Scientist to join our Data Science team on a permanent basis.

You should apply if you have:

  • Minimum of 10 years in Data science/AI roles, with at least 5 years in a leadership position.
  • Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, R, and SQL. Experience with machine learning frameworks (e.g., TensorFlow, PyTorch, Keras) and libraries (e.g. scikit-learn, Theano), demonstrating technical capability to build, optimise, and deploy AI models.
  • Strong aptitude for analysing complex data sets and derive actionable insights using advanced ML/AI techniques. This includes proficiency in developing, training, and optimising models to uncover patterns, predict outcomes, and drive strategic decisions.
  • Proven ability to lead, mentor, and inspire teams while fostering a culture of innovation, experimentation, and continuous improvement.

This is an opportunity to work on:

  • You will Lead and mentor the Data Science team, fostering a culture of innovation and continuous improvement by encouraging rapid experimentation and the development of proof of concepts (POCs) to explore new ideas and validate emerging technologies with a fail-fast mentality.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to develop, prioritise and implement data science strategies and roadmap that align with business objectives.
  • Oversee the design, development, and deployment of machine learning models and algorithms.
  • Collaborate with Product Management and Engineering teams plus other departments to identify data-driven opportunities and solutions.
