Job summary

GSK in the United Kingdom seeks a Principal Platform Architect to own the architecture of the Microsoft 365 estate for 50,000+ users across multiple countries. You will define the target state for Exchange Online, SharePoint Online, OneDrive, Teams, Viva, Power Platform, Copilot and related controls, balancing collaboration velocity with information protection and cost.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent professional experience in a technical field.
• Significant IT infrastructure or digital workplace experience with design authority.
• Experience owning a Microsoft 365 tenant across multiple countries and regulatory jurisdictions.
• Hands-on command of core M365 workloads and governance controls.
• Proven enterprise information governance and external sharing ownership.
• Strong scripting and automation with PowerShell and Graph API.

Responsibilities

• Own the M365 target-state architecture for the tenant including workload topology and licensing model.
• Define multi-year productivity roadmap, migration off legacy platforms, and tool consolidation.
• Monitor roadmap changes, assess risk, and decide adoption or deferral before vendor actions.
• Produce reference architectures, ADRs and design patterns with clear trade-offs.
• Architect information protection across the tenant including retention, DLP and eDiscovery.
• Design external sharing and B2B collaboration governance across the platform.
• Ensure regulatory obligations: GDPR, data residency and audit readiness.
• Partner with Cyber Security on security posture and zero-trust controls.
• Lead Copilot and Power Platform governance including licensing strategy.
• Set governance for Copilot Studio and agent development lifecycles.
