Principal Lawyer (Commercial)

Location: Hybrid – Based from Huntingdon, Shefford or Northampton

Contract: 12–18 Month Fixed Term Contract | Full Time (37 hours)

Salary: £64,354 + £1,435 management allowance (where applicable)

Key Responsibilities

• Advising public sector clients on commercial, contract, procurement, and corporate law
• Providing strategic legal advice to senior officers and elected members
• Managing a diverse caseload across construction, governance, and public law
• (Optional) Leading and developing a team of lawyers with additional allowance
• Promoting client service, legal innovation, and operational excellence

Candidate Profile

• Qualified Solicitor, Barrister, or Chartered Legal Executive
• Proven experience in commercial contracts & procurement
• Ability to handle complex caseloads and priorities
• Proactive, problem-solving approach
