Principal Landscape Planner

Your new role

As our Principal Landscape Planner, you will be part of our landscape specialism within Ramboll, a leading design, engineering, and consultancy company. We work as a national team with landscape architects based in Birmingham, Bristol, Edinburgh, Leeds, London, and Oxford. Ramboll offers flexible working, and you will be part of an expert team committed to creating sustainable societies where people and nature thrive.

Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Delivering landscape planning packages through all project stages, including client interface, feasibility, assessment, stakeholder consultation, and monitoring
  • Leading meetings with clients, stakeholders, and project teams
  • Collaborating with the wider landscape team and mentoring junior staff
  • Ensuring high-quality, accurate work from yourself and the team
  • Contributing to business development, fee proposals, and tenders
  • Utilising digital tools for design and assessment
  • Conducting site visits and technical photography as needed
  • Preparing written and graphic landscape planning outputs, including visual evidence

About You

  • Chartered Member of the Landscape Institute
  • Experience advising on landscape planning, especially in renewable energy sectors
  • Strong relationship-building skills with colleagues and consultants
  • Team management experience for successful project delivery
  • Excellent communication skills in English
  • Organised, able to prioritise workloads independently
  • Proficient in IT packages such as Microsoft Office, GIS, and Adobe Creative Suite

Additional qualities include understanding other environmental and engineering disciplines, flexibility to work on diverse projects, and ability to collaborate across teams and external partners.
