Principal Landscape Architect Job in Cambridge


Principal Landscape Architect job joining a leading UK design and planning consultancy in either their Manchester, Cambridge, Peterborough or Glasgow office. With a growing portfolio of major infrastructure, energy, and regeneration projects, you'll be supporting some of the most ambitious schemes in the country.

Role & Responsibilities
  1. Lead and author Landscape and Visual Impact Assessments (LVIAs), including for NSIPs and EIA projects
  2. Contribute to strategic masterplanning with a strong environmental and contextual awareness
  3. Apply your knowledge of landscape character assessment, Green Belt, and designated landscape appraisals
  4. Manage projects and mentor junior team members
  5. Work closely within multi-disciplinary teams across planning, design and environment.
Required Skills & Experience
  1. A degree in Landscape Architecture and CMLI chartership
  2. Solid experience in consultancy environments and project delivery
  3. Deep understanding of relevant policy and guidance: GLVIA3, TGN on RVAAs and landscape value
  4. Strong reporting, writing, and project leadership skills
  5. GIS skills are desirable, but not essential
  6. Passion for collaborative, context-led design and planning
  7. Experience of acting as expert witness at public inquiries, hearings and appeals is also desirable.
