You will oversee concept through construction, manage client relationships and mentor junior staff, helping to grow a leading landscape practice within a global consultancy.

  • Chartered LI member or equiv., with robust experience in consultancy environments.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the design and delivery of landscape architecture projects across diverse sectors.
  • Develop landscape designs from feasibility through construction documents.
  • Manage project programmes, budgets and commercial performance.
  • Produce and review landscape drawings, reports, specs and technical docs.
  • Administer contracts and support projects during delivery.
  • Build and maintain client relationships as a trusted advisor.
  • Lead meetings, workshops and client presentations.
  • Mentor junior Landscape Architects and promote technical excellence.
  • Support business development and practice growth.

Education

Chartered Member of the Landscape Institute (CMLI)
Landscape Institute accredited Bachelor's, Diploma or Master's degree in Landscape Architecture
Minimum three years' post-chartership experience
Strong project management
Excellent communication & stakeholder management

Morson Edge are working with a leading global multidisciplinary consultancy to recruit a Principal Landscape Architect to join their expanding Landscape Architecture team.

This is an excellent opportunity to join one of the UK's largest and most diverse landscape practices, delivering high-profile projects across the UK and internationally. You'll work on an exciting portfolio spanning urban regeneration, residential developments, environmental enhancement, aviation and major infrastructure projects, helping to create sustainable places that deliver lasting environmental and social value.

As part of a collaborative multidisciplinary team, you'll take a leading role in project delivery, client management and mentoring junior colleagues, while contributing to the continued growth of a nationally recognised Landscape Architecture practice.

The Opportunity

We're looking to speak with experienced Chartered Landscape Architects who are passionate about delivering high-quality landscape design solutions across all project stages.

This role offers the opportunity to lead complex landscape projects from concept through to construction, working closely with planners, architects, engineers and environmental specialists. Alongside technical delivery, you'll play an important role in client development, team leadership and helping shape the future direction of the Landscape Architecture team.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the design and delivery of landscape architecture projects across a diverse range of sectors.
  • Develop landscape designs from feasibility through to detailed construction information.
  • Manage project programmes, budgets and commercial performance.
  • Produce and review landscape drawings, reports, specifications and technical documentation.
  • Administer construction contracts and support projects during delivery.
  • Build and maintain strong client relationships, acting as a trusted technical advisor.
  • Lead project meetings, workshops and client presentations.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to deliver integrated design solutions.
  • Mentor and support junior Landscape Architects, promoting technical excellence across the team.
  • Contribute to business development and the continued growth of the Landscape Architecture team.
Essential Skills & Experience
  • Chartered Member of the Landscape Institute (CMLI).
  • Landscape Institute accredited Bachelor's, Diploma or Master's degree in Landscape Architecture.
  • Minimum three years' post-chartership experience within a consultancy environment.
  • Proven experience delivering landscape architecture projects across multiple sectors.
  • Strong project management experience, including financial and programme management.
  • Thorough understanding of the UK planning system.
  • Excellent technical design, report writing and construction detailing skills.
  • Strong communication, presentation and stakeholder management abilities.
  • Proficient in AutoCAD, Adobe Creative Suite and Microsoft Office.
  • Full UK driving licence.
Desirable Experience
  • Experience delivering regeneration, infrastructure, aviation or environmental projects.
  • Experience using Revit and/or Civil 3D.
  • Contract administration experience.
  • Experience working within multidisciplinary design teams.
  • Passion for sustainable, innovative and environmentally led design.
