Job summary

Conrad Consulting is recruiting a Senior/Principal Landscape Architect for a Birmingham based role. You will take on associate design lead responsibilities across education, transport, flood infrastructure and urban regeneration projects.

Responsibilities include design input, assessments, tender responses, and budget management. You will mentor junior staff while coordinating with regional leaders to deliver high-quality landscapes.

Qualifications

  • A relevant landscape degree and Post Graduate Diploma or MA.
  • Chartered membership of the Landscape Institute.
  • Minimum 8 years post‑chartership experience in landscape roles, ideally public and private sectors.
  • Experience delivering multi-disciplinary projects including schools, transport, flood infrastructure and urban regeneration.
  • Excellent multi-disciplinary project management skills.

Responsibilities

  • Design input to projects across schools, rail, road, flood infrastructure and urban regeneration.
  • Prepare Landscape and Visual Impact Assessments and tender responses.
  • Manage bids and projects budgets and deliverables.
  • Provide landscape advice to clients and internal teams.
  • Mentor junior staff and allocate resources with leadership teams.

Overview

If you are an established Senior/Principal Landscape Architect who would relish the challenges of taking on associate design lead responsibilities, one of the world's most respected and commercially ambitious consultancies has a senior level appointment based in their Birmingham office available.

Global Design, Engineering and Project Management consultancy providing architecture and engineering services to public and private sector clients. With a design‑led brand and a recent shift to project work, the architecture practice has seen rapid growth. Their teams work on projects across Education, Transport, Flood Infrastructure and Urban Regeneration, providing opportunities to build experience and specialise.

Responsibilities
  • Design input to a range of projects including schools, rail, road, flood infrastructure, public realm and urban regeneration.
  • Preparation of Landscape and Visual Impact Assessments.
  • Preparation of tender responses.
  • Commercial management of bids and projects.
  • Provision of landscape advice to external and internal clients.
  • Understanding of project management, including the financial management of projects.
  • Resource allocation in liaison with the regional and national landscape senior leadership team.
  • Mentoring junior staff.
Requirements
  • A relevant landscape degree and Post Graduate Diploma or MA.
  • Chartered membership of the Landscape Institute.
  • Relevant minimum 8 years post‑chartership experience in a Landscape role, ideally in both public and private sectors.
  • Experience in the management and delivery of multi‑disciplinary projects, particularly in the sectors of schools, transport, flood infrastructure and urban regeneration.
  • Excellent project management skills for multi‑disciplinary projects.
  • Proven ability to manage budgets.
  • Competent in AutoCAD & Adobe software packages with a passion to explore the use of Revit, SketchUp and Enscape as a design tool and for presentational outputs.
