Job summary

KBR, Inc. is seeking a Principal Jetty/Coastal Engineer to support lead engineers in delivering marine facility designs, including dredging, mooring, and shore protection aspects, across global offices.

You will contribute to surveys, studies, and design bases as part of a multidisciplinary team. The role requires liaising with clients and 3rd party contractors to ensure timely, budget-conforming delivery, with a focus on quality and safety.

Qualifications

  • Degree in Structural Engineering or Naval Architecture is required.
  • Experience in conceptual, FEED and detailed engineering of jetty/coastal structures.
  • In-depth knowledge of latest revisions of applicable design codes is essential.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently.
  • Ability to work both independently and in a multi-disciplinary team.

Responsibilities

  • Support the lead engineer in preparing engineering deliverables.

Principal Jetty/Coastal Engineer

As a Principal Jetty/Coastal Engineer, you will support the lead engineer related preparation of engineering deliverables within the scope assigned. For a number of the topics there must be a Subject Matter Expert level of expertise.

A: Surveys/data gathering

C. Bases of design/specifications, Preliminary design, Detailed design - for permanent and temporary marine facilities
  • Marine - dredging, reclamation, fill, shore protection, breakwaters, mooring/berthing dolphin equipment, gangways, cranes, navaids
  • Structural - substructure, trestle, loading platforms, jetty head structures
  • Geotechnical - investigations, piles, earthworks
D. Commercial/contractual
  • Scopes of work
  • Technical bid evaluation

The work will involve liaising with client and 3rd party contractors and coordinating and working with project team members across global offices to deliver the tasks within allotted timelines and budgets.

REQUIREMENTS
  • First or higher degree in Structural Engineering or Naval Architectural.
  • Experienced in Conceptual, FEED and detailed engineering of jetty / coastal structure.

  • Ability to work efficiently and effectively when managing multiple tasks
