Job summary

TÜV Rheinland Solutions is seeking a Principal Integrity Engineer to lead and deliver power plant integrity assessments from our Derby, UK base. The role involves developing risk-based inspection strategies, advising clients, and delivering reports on time and within budget.

Requirements include a BEng/MEng in engineering (mechanical preferred), Chartered Engineer status being desirable, and a minimum of 10 years of relevant experience.

Qualifications

• BEng / MEng degree in engineering related topic preferably mechanical engineering.
• Chartered Engineer or working towards professional registration is desirable.
• Minimum of 10 years of relevant experience.

About Us

TÜV Rheinland Solutions is an established and specialist risk management consulting, inspection and training company, and is part of the TÜV Rheinland Group. We help clients to manage health, safety, security, environmental (HSSE) and business risk in sectors where the impact of loss is high.

We are seeking a Principal Integrity Engineers (permanent role) with specific pressure systems knowledge to take up senior positions in its expanding Asset Integrity Management team based in Derby, UK. The successful candidates will play a key role in leading and delivering solutions for our clients.

Most of the team’s activities are focused on the Conventional Power and Clean Energy sectors (primarily CCGT, Biomass and Energy from Waste plants).

The candidates must have experience in all, or most, of the following:

• Integrity assessment of defective power plant components – low and high temperature (e.g. reverse code calculation, fracture mechanics, finite element analysis).
• Legislative compliance e.g. the UK PSSR.
• Power plant inspection (e.g. steam and water pressure parts, boiler tube surveys, supportsurveys), with an understanding of materials selection, damage/degradation mechanisms and life assessment.
• Power plant mechanical engineering.
• Power plant operations and maintenance. In addition, you will have excellent organisational, problem solving, communication and report writing skills.

Duties and responsibilities will include:

• Minimum of 10 years of relevant experience.
