Job summary

TÜV Rheinland Solutions in the UK is seeking Integrity / Plant Engineers for a permanent role based in Derby. The successful candidates will join our Asset Integrity Management team and lead integrity assessments for power plants, working across Conventional Power and Clean Energy sectors.

The position requires a BEng in mechanical engineering, 3–5 years of relevant experience, and ideally Incorporation as an Engineer or progress towards registration.

Qualifications

• BEng degree in engineering, preferably mechanical engineering.
• Incorporated Engineer status or working towards registration is desirable.
• Minimum of 3–5 years of relevant experience.

Responsibilities

• Delivering power plant integrity assessments.
• Assisting in developing risk-based inspection strategies.
• Providing technical support and advice to clients.
• Assessing inspection results and making run/repair/replace decisions.
• Producing formal technical reports and project deliverables on time and to budget.

Integrity / Plant Engineers (permanent role)

We are seeking Integrity / Plant Engineers (permanent role) with specific pressure systems knowledge to take up a position in its expanding Asset Integrity Management team based in our brand new facility in Derby, UK. The successful candidates will play a key role in leading and delivering solutions for our clients.

The majority of the team’s activities are focussed on the Conventional Power and Clean Energy sectors (primarily CCGT, Biomass and Energy from Waste plants).

Requirements

• Integrity assessment of defective power plant components – low and high temperature (e.g. reverse code calculation, fracture mechanics, finite element analysis).
• Legislative compliance e.g. the UK PSSR.
• Power plant inspection (e.g. steam and water pressure parts, boiler tube surveys, support surveys), with an understanding of materials selection, damage/degradation mechanisms and life assessment.
• Power plant mechanical engineering.
• Power plant operations and maintenance.In addition, you will have excellent organisational, problem solving, communication and report writing skills.

Qualifications and experience

• BEng degree or equivalent in engineering related topic preferably mechanical engineering.
• Incorporated Engineer or working towards professional registration is desirable.
• Minimum of 3 – 5 years of relevant experience.
