Principal Consultant Integrity Engineer (Pressure Systems) PSSR Conventional Power and Clean Energy Industries

Job type: Full time

Expected duration: Permanent

TUV Rheinland UK is seeking Principal Integrity Engineers (permanent role) with specific pressure systems knowledge to join its expanding Asset Integrity Management team based in Derby, UK. The successful candidates will lead and deliver solutions for our clients, primarily in the Conventional Power and Clean Energy sectors (CCGT, Biomass, Energy from Waste).

The ideal candidates will have experience in:

  • Integrity assessment of power plant components (low and high temperature), including reverse code calculation, fracture mechanics, finite element analysis.
  • Legislative compliance, e.g., UK PSSR.
  • Power plant inspection, understanding materials, damage mechanisms, and life assessment.
  • Mechanical engineering principles related to power plants.
  • Operations and maintenance of power plants.

Additionally, candidates should possess excellent organizational, problem-solving, communication, and report-writing skills.

Responsibilities include:

  • Leading power plant integrity assessments.
  • Developing risk-based inspection strategies.
  • Providing technical support and advice to clients.
  • Assessing inspection results to inform run/repair/replace decisions.
  • Producing technical reports and project deliverables.
  • Creating proposals and developing new business.
  • Mentoring less experienced engineers.
  • Staying updated on standards, legislation, and best practices.

The role involves site visits within the UK and abroad as needed.

Qualifications and experience required:

  • BEng / MEng in engineering, preferably mechanical engineering.
  • Chartered Engineer or working towards registration (desirable).
  • Minimum 10 years of relevant experience.
